ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Gas prices may have you cutting down on road trips, but your kids don't have to. Dougherty County schools aren't cutting any additional field trips because of high fuel prices.

They scaled back when prices first began rising about three years ago and kept those cuts in place. But this year, they budgeted big for fuel and won't have to cut any more trips.

"Currently, gas prices are running a lot less than we budgeted for, so we're actually saving money on the budget based on gas prices that we're currently paying," said Business Director Robert Lloyd.

He says the price per barrel of oil has fallen by about $20 since he set the fuel budget.
