Athens - Georgia fans are excited about Saturday's game with the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide.
They are also sad because the voice of Larry Munson will not be heard on the radio.
Munson announced his retirement effective immediately on Monday.
He is leaving the booth after 43 years of calling Georgia football games is bringing out numerous deserved tributes and memories of their favorite Munson call.
Former Georgia coach Vince Dooley says even though he never played a down, Larry Munson will always be one of the greats in Georgia football history.
Vince Dooley said "If there's ever been an icon or a folk hero, Larry munson has been that to the University.
Scott Howard and former Georgia quarterback Eric Zeier will be handle radio duties for the Georgia football team for the remainder of the season.
