VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - An 11-year-old boy is recovering Saturday night after he was hit by a Valdosta police cruiser.

The crash happened near the intersection of Janet Drive and Bemiss Road.

After five Friday evening that 11-year-old was riding his bike on to Janet Drive from a business driveway when he was struck by the officer.

The boy was transported to South Georgia Medical Center where he was treated and released.

No charges are expected to be filed against the officer.
