ADEL, GA (WALB) - South Georgia residents aid Hurricane Ike victims.

Folks in Cook County are collecting supplies to send to hurricane victims in Galveston, Texas.

Sharon Harnage contacted Calvary Crossroads Church near Galveston to find out what was needed most.

They are asking for mops, brooms, any form of cleaning supplies, and baby food and formula.

"I like helping people and seeing all the devastation on the news out there. This is just a small thing we can do in South Georgia to help out the people out there," said Harnage.

There will be someone accepting donations from 8AM until 8PM everyday except Sunday. The truck is in the parking lot across from Jerry Kelly on Old 41 in Adel.

There is also a drop off site in Fitzgerald at the Modern Appliance Store.
