Congressman Saxby Chambliss starts the election day in South Georgia as he seeks the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate. Congressman Chambliss and his wife, Julianne, voted in their hometown of Moultrie Tuesday morning.

The United States Representative says he misses spending time in Colquitt County. "Needless to say, I've been spending so much time from Moultrie in the last year, it's nice to be home and spend the night in my own bed for a change."

Chambliss and his wife have lived in Moultrie for more than 30 years. They both left South Georgia this afternoon for Atlanta. Chambliss is running for the U.S. Senate seat against Bob Brown, Junior and State Representative Bob Irvin.

The winner will face Incumbent Max Cleland in the November General Election.
