Valdosta -  The Valdosta State volleyball team tuned up for their Gulf South Conference opener with 3-0 win over peach state rival Albany State.

Lady Blazers won 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.

Chelsea Logan had 11 kills and just one error in 17 sttaccks and Ruthie King had nine kills in 15 attacks.

Mya Snell led the Lady Rams (9-2) with eight kills and Carolina Ribeiro had 19 assists.

Albany State will host SIAC rival Paine on Friday.

The Valdosta State volleyball team is 9-6 and on the road Friday at West Alabama and play at Montevallo on Saturday.
