ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany man got life in prison Wednesday for killing a relative.

36-year old Ricky Johnson was found guilty of slitting the throat of his step-uncle.

George Ponder was killed at his home in April 2007. Johnson was caught when he used Ponder's A.T.M. card.

The 64-year-old Ponder used a wheelchair. His body was discovered by his girlfriend after his throat was cut in his own living room on Shirley Avenue in East Albany.

Johnson is the step-son of one of Ponder's brothers.
