Georgia ready for road trip to Arizona desert

September 16, 2008

Athens - Georgia preparing for their longest regular season road trip in almost 50 years.

The third ranked Bulldogs are heading to the Arizona desert to play the Sun Devils of Arizona State.

The Sun Devils were a top 20 team until they were upset at home by UNLV last weekend.

It is easy to believe Arizona State was maybe looking ahead to this week's visit from the Bulldogs.

These two teams may be on opposites sides of the country but there is a great debate on whether the SEC or Pac-10 is the best football conference.

The Bulldogs hope to show the nation which conference is best.

Receiver Mohamed Massaquoi said "A lot of people have questioned whether our conference is the toughest conference in America. We feel it is. So, it is our duty to go out there and show America that it really is."

Quarterback Matthew Stafford said "It is going to be fun to go out there and play in front of some people we don't get to play in front of. It is going to be fun playing against a team we really don't know a whole bunch about."

Georgia is 8-4-1 against Pac ten schools but their last game was a win against Oregon State in 1987.

Gametime is just approximately 8:15 p.m. Saturday night in Tempe, Arizona.
