ALBANY, GA (WALB) - What began as a burglary in progress call late Monday night turned into Albany's 8th homicide of the year.
Just before 11:00, APD officers were called out to 1143 Gillionville Road Apt. A. When police went inside the apartment they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.
Detectives worked into the early morning hours gathering evidence from in and around the apartment which is located across the street from Railway Freight in a triplex unit.
Authorities remained tight lipped about the investigation and did not say how many times the victim was shot.
So far investigators have not said if the victim was killed during a burglary or if there are any suspects in the case.
Police say the victim in a black man in his early-to-mid twenties. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.Feedback
