VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Airmen from Moody Air Force base deployed Friday to the center of the storm.

Thirty airmen took off in five HH-60 Helicopters. They will head to Gulfport, then on to Texas.

Each aircraft has a multi-talented team that will be ready for anything Ike may bring.

"We've got Pj's so we can do rescues, we can deliver humanitarian aid...water, food, blankets. Get people and ff load them to other aircraft to get them out of harms way so there's a whole lot of things we can bring to the action if we need to,"  says Capt. Shonk Wiler, Flight Commander.

They say more teams may be called out once Ike hits, and they assess the damage.
