ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One of the top real estate producers in the albany area has died.

Russell E. Martin passed away this morning. He started Russell Martin Realty Company in 1976 and opened RE/MAX of Albany, Inc. in 1986.

He was a past Realtor of the Year, Past President of the Albany Board of Realtors, and a member of the Million Dollar Club for 22 years.

He developed Albany's first gated single-family neighborhood, Wyndham Chase, as well as developed or participated in the development of other subdivisions in Albany. He was also a member of the Relapse Band.

Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements which will be announced later.
