LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) - Six young people were injured in a hit and run crash in Lee County on Wednesday night.

Around nine O'clock a 17-year-old driver and five of his friends were southbound on U.S. 19 right near the Kinchafoonee Creek bridge.

A Ford Ranger pick-up slammed into the car.

The car spun around and ended up in a ditch.

Three people in the car were taken to Phoebe Putney Hospital, and three were taken to Palmyra. We don't know their conditions.

The truck driver took off, but a witness followed him.

Georgia State Troopers found the truck nearby on Canuga Drive.

The driver was arrested.
