ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The battle continues between Dougherty County District one School Board Candidates and now, the county Republican Party is involved.

WALB News Ten has learned that Dougherty County Republican Party Chairwoman Karen Kemp sent a letter to the Secretary of State's Inspector General questioning the legality of Richard Anson's candidacy.

Right now the Inspector General's office is reviewing the letter's allegations against Anson and whether it falls within their jurisdiction. Retiring board member Richard Anson was quickly appointed by state Democrats to run against Maschke for his board seat after Maschke's democratic opponent dropped out.

Anson currently serves as an at-large member of the school board but opted to to run for that seat again. When we questioned Karen Kemp about the letter today she told us, no comment.
