Two South Georgia hospitals are battling for patients in Worth County, and the people in the county could be the big winners.

Tift Regional Medical Center just opened a health plus medical office center on Highway 82 a few yards from one operated by Phoebe. Tift Regional has been serving Worth County for six years, but gave up their space at Worth Baptist's hospital when Phoebe took it over earlier this year.

Rhonda Breeland, of Tift Regional says, "We're giving people of Worth County opportunity to choose from two major medical centers."

The medical office center has 8 exam rooms and doctors who make the trip to Sylvester on a rotating basis. Their specialties vary from neurology to gynecology to sports medicine.  You can get a free Skin Cancer screening Saturday morning.
