ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Police still haven't caught the man who opened fire on an Albany taxi cab early Sunday.

A passenger, 49-year old Patricia Parks, was shot in the back during the robbery attempt. She was treated at a hospital and released.

Neither Parks nor the cab driver, 73-year old Thomas Laster, could provide a description of the robber.

Around 5:30 Sunday morning Laster stopped at the traffic light at Gordon Avenue and South Jefferson Street. A man walked up and tried to rob them. Laster sped away and the gunman riddled the cab with bullets.

The cab driver was struck by flying glass and drove himself and his passenger to an emergency room.
