ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany Police officer was cited for a wreck that sent her and another driver to the hospital. Friday night shortly before midnight, officer Linda Profit was traveling South on North Slappey with emergency lights flashing to help another officer with crowd control.

Profit slowed down after she saw a white Daewoo driven by Juan Wiley come into the intersection traveling west on Third. Wiley made impact with the patrol car near the left front fender causing both vehicles to spin.

During the spin, the Daewoo hit the officer's vehicle again pushing the patrol car between the Third Avenue sign and a light pole.

Both Profit and Wiley were taken to the hospital and are okay. The officer will be cited with a red light violation.
