The Southwest Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross installs their new board members today and honors volunteers. The Southwest Georgia chapter serves 12 counties, and many of the Red Cross volunteers who help with their disaster response were honored.
17 volunteers from Southwest Georgia traveled to New York City or Washington this year to help in the relief efforts of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Johnny Crump was one of those Red Cross volunteers honored. Crump said "You're helping your fellow man. It makes you feel good. And the more you give, the more you'll receive."
Lori Farkas was installed as the new chairperson of the Southwest Georgia Red Cross executive board.
