Commission Chairman candidate touts healing skill

August 14, 2002

A candidate for Dougherty County Commission Chairman says he can help eliminate the discord in the community.

James Bush told Albany Kiwanis Club members that several prominent ministers are throwing their support behind him. And he says their support can play a critical role in helping bring the community together under Bush's leadership.

Bush says, "Since they support me so strongly, I believe that support can be capitalized on by eradicating some of the discord."

Bush also said some of the county's economic problems stem from local construction money going to outside builders. He says, if elected, he will work to hire local people to do the work.
