ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany businessman will serve three years in prison on a cocaine conviction.

Fifty-five-year-old Andy Barfield pleaded guilty in June to drug trafficking. Barfield was arrested in January in Columbus when he tried to buy 500 grams of cocaine from an undercover drug agent.

Barfield met with that undercover agent several times in Albany and told the agent he was capable of bribing Albany public officials and law enforcement for protection for his illegal activities and said he'd done so in the past.

In addition to three years in prison, Barfield also got three years probation.
