TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Just as Hurricane Gustav evacuees who found shelter in south Georgia head home, more evacuees could head this way.
The Days Inn in Tifton has already booked 10 rooms for Thursday night for families who plan to evacuate the East Coast because of Tropical Storm Hanna. Workers say they make sure to accommodate people forced to leave their homes in times of emergency.
"We do look out for people like that. Our manager issues a special rate for the evacuee. Actually the Social Security administration already called today asking for a special rate for this weekend for the evacuees, and it will be available for them ," says Erica Webb a Days Inn Employee.
The special rates will be available to evacuees starting Thursday morning. Feedback
