ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Nearly 900 of Georgia Power's crewmen from Albany and across the state are in Mississippi to help restore power to hurricane ravaged cities.

The linemen left Monday for Gulfport and Biloxi to repair utility poles ripped down throughout the gulf coast in wind gusts that reached as high as 100 miles per hour.

Crews from Savannah were told to return home in preparation for Hurricane Hanna.
