The Lee County all-stars won the state Dixie Youth Baseball title in the losers bracket and they will have to do the same to win the D.Y.B. World Series in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
The tournament host Pascagoula holds on for a close 4-3 win in the opening round of the tournament Monday night.
Lee County scored their runs in the bottom of the first inning off Pascagoula's Cal Mitchell.
After Howell White led off with a walk, Will Rained doubled moving White to third.
Dylan Weaver reached on a fielder's choice as White beat the throw from second baseman Matthew Semancik to score the game's first run.
Will Raines then scored as Zach Hood dropped a single into center field.
Pascagoula's bats woke up with four runs in their half of the fourth to take the lead.
Lee County added another run on a two out single in the bottom of the seventh but on the play Pascagoula got the final out at the third base to preserve the victory.
Lee County will play Wildwood, Florida at 7pm Tuesday night in an elimination game.
