Wildcats deal goes back to City Commission

August 29, 2008

Albany - The South Georgia Wildcats are planning to play in Albany next year.

Mayor Willie Adams though wants to run the deal by the city commission again before giving his approval.

Wildcats co-owner Silvio Fazzini has signed the amendment to the final year of the team's lease to the Albany Civic Center.

The document now awaits the signature from Mayor Willie Adams.

Adams has called a special meeting of the city commission on Tuesday morning during their regular committee meeting.

Mayor Adams wants to discuss with commissioners some minor changes to the deal they approved late Wednesday.

One of those changes involves concessions.

The Wildcats want the city to hire an outside contractor to handle concessions at the Civic Center if the team gives up their year round control.

Another issue involves provisions about signage.

Provisions that were supposed to be removed are still in the deal signed by the Wildcats.
