ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Public works crews spent the day cleaning up a potential hazard at an Eastside park.

Wednesday, we showed you how water had filled a large hole in Grove Park on Rosebrier. First thing Thursday morning, crews began clearing out drainage ditches in that area.

WALB News 10 investigated the park after a citizen called to express concern about the safety of children at the park.

Our call to public works led to today's cleanup.

"You can always count on public works," said Ward 1 City Commissioner Jon Howard. "If they tell you they are going to do something and it is a problem or concern, they are out here trying to rectify this as soon as possible. Not only am I happy, but the neighbors that live in this area are also happy too."

Commissioner Howard says Public Works is always responsive and if you see a problem or danger in your neighborhood, you should call them.
