Things went from bad to worse this week for people living in Richland.

Problems with well and pump equipment forced the Stewart County community to place a ban on all outdoor watering of lawns back in June. Then Friday, many faucets went completely dry and remained that way throughout the weekend.

The city restored water to all its customers by Wednesday, and now car washes are able to reopen again, but there are no guarantees.

Lamar Brown, Public Works Director, said, "We got water up where it's supposed to be, hopefully it will stay that way, hopefully.

The city is searching for money to repair the pumps and hopes to eventually replace them.
