ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A former Olympian wants to help you train to run a marathon. Jeff Galloway will kick off his Marathon Training Program Saturday at 8am at Phoebe Northwest. The six month program will prepare runners of all levels to run in the Albany Marathon next March.
Galloway ran the 10,000 meter in the 1972 Olympics. He has started more than 60 clinics like the one in Albany all over the country. He's keeping a close eye on the Olympics this year. Friday he even wore an official Olympic t-shirt from his days on the U-S team.
"I do get flashbacks. It was one of the highlights of my life, and it changed my life. To be in the Olympics allows you to focus on a number of things that you would never be able to do," says sixty-three year old Galloway.
Galloway has trained more than 250,000 runners in his lifetime. Tomorrow's clinic is free. But the Galloway Program will cost 159 dollars for first timers and 99 dollars for alumni. Feedback
