VALDOSTA, Ga - (WALB) - A suspended chief public defendant in Cordele has been acquitted of all federal charges filed against him.
Tim Eidson was indicted in June for false statement and obstruction of justice.
Prosecutors accused him of trying to get a judge to delay his wife's drug case while he applied for the Chief Public Defender position in Cordele.
Judge Hugh Lawson acquitted him of those charges during a bench trial Friday in Macon.
Eidson has been on paid leave. No word yet when and if he will be reinstated.
