ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Dougherty County Commissioner who died earlier this week will be laid to rest Tuesday.
The funeral for Art Searles will be held at two at Mt. Zion Church.
The 64-year old Searles died of a heart attack Tuesday as he neared the end of his second term on the commission.
A special election will be held to fill that District Five seat. Qualifying opens Monday.
Two people have already announced they'll run. Searles' brother, Thomas, and Searles' July opponent, Harry James.
