Packers, Propst look for turnaround this season

August 20, 2008

Moultrie - Colquitt County head coach Rush Propst has a track record of championships.

Packer fans hope that trend will continue in Moultrie.

Propst takes over a Colquitt County team that is coming off its first losing season in 25 years.

The Packers new coach has some talent like quarterback John Michael Harrison, backs Trevon Littleton and Eric Key, linebacker Jarrett Sutton and linemen Tyrell Wright and Cam Erwin.

As for whether the Packers can turn it around this season, coach Propst says the process will take one step at a time.

Rush Propst said "That is what you have got to do first is be competitive on Friday nights and the winning will come. When will it come? I don't know. I can't answer that. I don't know that. It may take one year. It may take five years. I don't know ".

Colquitt County's scrimmage with Brooks County has been moved to Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Moultrie.

The Packers open the regular season against Randolph-Clay.
