LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) - People in a Lee County neighborhood tell us they're fed up with criminal activity by teenagers after gunshots were fired Tuesday night.

Deputies say a 19-year-old went to talk to a girl in the Glendale Road area, and a group of boys in the neighborhood chased him off.  He came back with his 18-year-old brother.

Investigators say the neighborhood guys tried to pull the brothers out of their car and punched and kicked at them. The 18-year-old fired three shots into the air from a 40-caliber pistol as they sped off.

"Some teenage boys came through this heavily populated neighborhood and fired off some shots with a pistol. Right now, we're following up on leads to see if we can't track them down and find out who they are," said Capt. Miles O'Quinn of the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

They did track down those brothers. They plan to charge both with disorderly conduct and one with discharging a firearm in a residential neighborhood.

Investigators will release their names once they're booked. They also expect to file charges against some of the other boys involved in the altercation.
