Bearcats ready for the Pilcher era

August 19, 2008

Bainbridge - Bainbridge High football fans have been counting down the days to kickoff since they found out Ed Pilcher was going to be the Bearcats head coach this season.

Pilcher surprised many when he left Thomas County Central after 17 seasons.

He takes over a Bearcats squad that is coming off one of their best seasons in a decade.

On offense, James Hudson is the leading candidate to take over for Nick Williams at quarterback.

He may be new in town but coach Pilcher is excited about being a Bearcat.

Ed Pilcher said "I feel comfortable right now and I think the kids feel comfortable with us and what we're trying to accomplish. It's just a matter. It's just a matter of getting enough reps in to get better at what we're trying to do."

Bainbridge opens up the regular season at home on Saturday against Cairo.
