Cairo - Cairo High has 27 seniors back from a team that is on a mission to win state championship after losing in the AAA state championship game.
Cairo returns its offensive backfield with quarterback Angelo Pease and in running backs Reginald Bryant and Ronnie Wooten.
With so much experience back and the success of last season, the Syrupmakers are a preaseason number in AAA.
Head coach Tom Fallaw acknowledges his team has a lot of returning talent but so does everyone else on the Cairo schedule.
Tom Fallaw said "It is going to be tough to keep our focus and understand that everybody we play is going to be just as good as us and can beat us on any given night."
Number one ranked Cairo faces arch-rival Bainbridge at Bainbridge this Saturday night.
