DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A Dougherty County Golf club offers a one thousand dollar reward, to catch the people who has broken into their clubhouse twice in one week.

The thief or thieves stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of golf equipment, money, and checks.

The crooks kicked in this door to their clubhouse Sunday night, and stole a safe from the office that had more than ten thousand dollars worth of cash and checks in it. Last Tuesday night someone broke into their locker room, and stole several members golf bags and two big screen TV's. But golf club officials say it is not slowing down their business.

River Pointe Golf Pro Buster Clark said  "The golfers have not stopped coming, but they are really concerned what's going on with the community. Some of the guys are taking their clubs out of our locker room until they catch what's going on."

The River Pointe home owners association members have also been asked to keep watch for suspicious persons in their neighborhood. They are offering a one thousand dollar reward for information on these break-ins.

Call the Dougherty County Police at 430-6600.
