ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County commissioners take a walk through Albany's front door. Construction on the Bridge House has wrapped up and final exhibits are being installed.

Monday, Dougherty County Commissioners toured the new home of the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Already, people visiting Albany from Arizona and Michigan have stopped in looking for places to visit, even though it's not officially open.

Commissioner Art Searles said the building is impressive and something that Albany has been lacking.

He said, "This is the gateway to Albany and that's something that we've needed and I think when people come here and they see the view of the river, we're finally getting to where we're utilizing the river effectively, so, it's impressive."

The Bridge House opens to the public on August 25th.
