MILLER COUNTY, GA (WALB) -  Fifty-three-year-old Tommy Thomas died at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon.

Thomas was driving a big rig on Highway 27 in Miller County Thursday when he slammed into a pickup truck, which then hit a mini-van, which then hit a school bus.  Five other people were seriously injured.

The driver of the pickup, 50-year-old minister, David Ebersole, remains in ICU. Two little girls in the mini-van, ages 6 and 8, also remain in intensive care.

Their mother, Glenda Smith has been upgraded to good condition. Another little girl, a three year old that had just gotten off the bus is now out of the hospital.

Troopers say the truck driver blacked out prior to the crash. He hit the vehicles at full speed without ever braking.
