An Albany man wanted in Lee County for kidnapping is still on the run.

Investigators say 43-year old James Michael Williford snatched his 6-year old daughter from her baby-sitter at this mobile home off U-S 19 in Lee County yesterday. Williford has no legal rights to the child.

He's wanted on charges of kidnapping, burglary, simple battery and stalking.

"Usually in child custody problems sometimes people take matters in their own hands rather than going through legal matters. In all the cases we've had so far have worked out where no one was hurt although their are legal ramifications," says Lee County Police Department Chief Dennis Parker.

The child was recovered and returned safely to her mother late yesterday afternoon.
