ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A man is arrested for attempting to set an Albany home on fire with a molotov cocktail.

An officer en route to another call noticed the fire at 501 West Whitney Avenue at about 10:00 PM Friday night.

Everyone inside got out safely, and the fire was put out with an extinguisher. Witnesses told police that Calvin Phillips threw the burning bottle into the backyard of the home.

He was later arrested and charged with first degree arson.

In a separate arson case, police are still looking for 44-year-old Frank Jefferson Junior for throwing a molotov cocktail into his ex-girlfriends home on Gardner Avenue.
