Beijing, China - Eatonton's Vincent Hancock won the gold medal in the men's skeet competition Saturday at the Beijing Summer Olympic games.
Hancock defeated Norway's Tore Brovold in a shootoff that lasted two rounds.
Vincent Hancock is a member of the Army Marksmanship Unit and is stationed at Fort Benning.
His wife Rebekah Young Hancock is from Leesburg.
On the track, Albany native Angelo Taylor's comeback bid continues.
Taylor won his heat semifinal heat Saturday in the men's 400 meter hurdles.
He also takes the fastest time into Monday's final where Angelo tries to win his second gold medal.
Angelo Taylor won gold in this event in 2000 and he also won a gold medal in a relay.
However the USA team was stripped of that 2000 relay gold medal because a member of the team admitted to using banned performance enhancing substances.
