ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Camilla Police officer will now run for Baker County Sheriff as a Democrat. As WALB News 10 reported earlier this week, embattled sheriff Isaac Anderson is retiring and announced Wednesday he would have his name removed from the ballot.

He's now officially filed those papers, and the Democratic party has named Camilla Police officer Dana Mead, previously an Independent candidate, as the Democratic candidate in that election. No one else is on the ballot. Coroner Andy Belinc is the acting Sheriff.
