Albany - The Albany State football team is already making progress in rebuilding their lines of scrimmage entering week two of summer practice.
While there is plenty of excitement on day one when players can work out in helmets and shorts.
Coaches know the real work starts when the pads go on.
The Rams have plenty to work on before opening the season in just over two weeks.
The number one and two items on coach Mike White's to do list is to find starters on the offensive and defensive lines.
Coach White says the Rams are off to a good start of accomplishing those goals after one week of practice.
Mike White said "Antorrio Wells is a freshman. He is doing a real good job on the defensive line. I like the young linemen right now. Clarence Young on the line is doing a pretty good job for us. We have got some young guys playing real hard right now. We have just got to get them up to speed and get them ready for game one."
The Rams will hold their first scrimmage on Saturday.
The season opener against Shaw University is August 30th at the Albany Municipal Coliseum.
