VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Valdosta restaurant re-opens after it was destroyed by a fire last year.

Sonny's Bar-B-Que on Norman Drive caught fire the night of December 23rd as workers cooked turkeys for the holidays.

After eight months of renovations, it's now back in business.

They say the restaurant now has the same food with a new look.

"It's all brand new. We've got a new bar area behind me. The dining room has been completely renovated and everything is new from top to bottom," says Operations Manager Tony Musteller.

60% of the employees who were out of job after the fire have been hired back.

Many of them have been filling in at the restaurant's Lake Park location.
