COFFEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) - An Atkinson man is dead Wednesday night after he lost control of his pick-up truck.

30-year-old Jimmy Owen White was traveling south on U-S Highway 441 near the Atkinson Coffee County line just before 7:30 Wednesday morning.

His truck spun into oncoming traffic and was struck by a car driven by 26-year-old John Bernard O'Brien III. O'Brien was treated at Coffee Regional Medical Center and released.

White was pronounced dead at the scene.
