Embattled sheriff will step down

August 13, 2008

WALB News 10 has obtained a copy of a letter sent by Baker County Sheriff Isaac Anderson's attorney Phil Cannon to Tommy Coleman, Baker County's attorney, stating that Sheriff Anderson will retire from his post.

Anderson will drop the pending legal action he was taking against Baker County.

Cannon said in the letter that the prospect of a lengthy legal battle, and considerations for his own health, for his family, and for the county led to Anderson's decision.
