ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If at first you don't succeed, try again. That's apparently Peter Studl's motto. The property owner and entrepreneur is reopening the old Hubbles restaurant, again.
Studl reopened Hubbles in 2005. It closed in 2006. The Flint River café opened in the location earlier this year, but closed.
Studl believes a restaurant can succeed in the location, and that the best name for the restaurant is the original. He said, "That's what it was since 1927 and it's an icon in the Albany market and really deserves to be reopened as Hubbles. We don't need another name. We need to just have a good menu that probably has a little more of the original Hubbles character and deliver a good product."
He plans to reopen the restaurant after Labor Day. They will serve an extended lunch on weekdays.
