A twelve year old boy was killed in a car accident this morning near Lumpkin.

The boy, whose named has not been released, was riding with his thirty-five year old mother on Georgia 27, about 5 miles west of Lumkin.

The boy and his mother are from Warner Robins. The mother lost control of her Ford Explorer and ran off the road.

She, then, overcorrected and the vehicle flipped over several times. The boy was killed, and the woman received several broken bones.

They were wearing their seat belts. Charges are pending.
