ALBANY, GA (WALB)- The victim in a shooting Sunday has now been arrested himself, and witnesses say they think gang members were involved in the shooting.
20 year old Carlos Clayton was wanted on three warrants for aggravated assault. Police say Clayton is one of several individuals involved in a fight in June, and that was why he was wanted.
Clayton was treated for a gunshot wound in the lower back at an Albany hospital, and now is in the Dougherty County jail. Investigators say about 8:30 Sunday night Clayton and friends were playing basketball on Elm Street when four cars sped past, then backed up to the game. Several men jumped out of the four cars, and threw bottles and sticks at the basketball players. Then five or six shots were fired. Clayton was the only person hit.
Witnesses say they think the shooters were Southside Bloods gang members.
Police are looking for three S.U.V.'s, a Blue Chevy Blazer with chrome rims, a gold Ford Expedition, and a Green Chevrolet Avalanche.
