VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The trial for the suspended Cordele Public Defender has been postponed.

Tim Eidson was scheduled to appear before a federal court judge in Macon Monday.

In June, he was indicted for false statement and obstruction of justice.

He's accused of trying to get a judge to delay his wife's drug case while he applied for the chief public defender position in Cordele.

At that time, he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Alapaha Judicial Circuit.

Court Clerks in Macon says a jury trial is currently being heard now and Eidson will have his bench trial as soon as the jury trial is over.
