ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Dougherty County School Board member who decided not to run for re-election will now run for a different seat on the board. Dr. Richard Anson is finishing up his term as the at-large member. When Democrat Judith Corbitt withdrew from the District One race. The Democratic Party needed a replacement candidate and picked Anson. Now, he'll run against incumbent Republican David Maschke. Tonight Anson told us some voters told him they want a change in their district, and he felt they deserved a choice in November.

"I'd like to be able to work very closely with the administration and other board members and not have a fragmented board. I'd like to see some degree of corporation and harmony amongst everyone on the board," says Anson. He says he'll begin campaigning soon. But don't expect to see yard signs with his name on them.  Anson says he'll stick to door to door campaigning.  Feedback
