ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany's notorious Bandana Bandit has been indicted on nine counts of armed robbery.

29 year old Jerome Lowe was arrested last month and Police say he confessed to sticking up ten businesses between June 14th through July 11th.

The Dougherty Grand Jury indicted him on nine counts of armed robbery, listing the individual clerks that he robbed at gunpoint as the victims in his crime spree, not the businesses that were robbed.

Lowe had been convicted of a previous armed robbery and served time in Georgia prisons before these robberies, and that could be a factor in his sentencing.  Lowe could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted.

Dougherty Chief Assistant D.A. Greg Edwards said  "Absolutely. This would be one of the state's two strikes situations. So yes that would certainly be a sentence that could be the result of this case."

Edwards says more charges are pending against Lowe, who could face trial in September now that he is indicted.
