Valdosta - For the first time in three years, Valdosta State is picked to win the Gulf South Conference.

The defending Division II national champions beat North Alabama by one point in the balloting of conference coaches.

Four Blazers make the preseason all conference team.

They are receiver Cedric Jones, tackle Davis Nall, defensive tackle Jermel Daniels and defensive back Sherard Reynolds.

Valdosta State opens the season August 23rd at home against Fort Valley State.
